Ripple CEO wins historic CFTC position
Ripple CEO to sit alongside President of DTCC on US advisory committee.
Ripple continues to gain approval from US regulators with a decisive victory yesterday that cements XRP as one of the nation’s top 35 crypto projects.
The powerful US Commodity Futures Trading Commission selected Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, gushing about “an important and energizing moment,” among 35 winners that include the CEOs of the US Intercontinental Exchange as well as the DTCC itself, which processes $3.7 quadrillion worth of annual transactions.
Quick note before we continue: During uncertain or sideways markets, smart traders look for better ways to manage risk and generate yield. More on that below.
Market Context
“Today marks an important and energizing moment at the CFTC as the Innovation Advisory Committee takes shape,” Chairman Michael Selig proclaimed while selecting Garlinghouse as one of his 35 winners.
Selig has faith that Garlinghouse’s work “will help ensure the CFTC’s decisions reflect market realities so the agency can future-proof its markets and develop clear rules of the road for the Golden Age of American Financial Markets.”
