US spot XRP ETFs recorded $6.78 million in net inflows on July 16, making it the largest single-day inflow registered in July so far.

The increase pushed cumulative net inflows across all listed US spot XRP ETFs to $1.49 billion.

According to the data obtained from Coinglass, the day’s inflows were led by Bitwise, whose XRP ETF attracted $4.41 million in new capital. Franklin Templeton followed with $2.38 million in inflows through its XRP ETF.

Other issuers, including Canary Capital, 21Shares, and Grayscale, finished the session with no reported net inflows.

The latest additions also brought the combined net assets held by US spot XRP ETFs to $997.18 million, placing the sector just below the $1 billion milestone.

Trading activity also remained healthy during the session.

Combined daily trading volume across all US spot XRP ETFs reached $11.85 million, reflecting continued investor participation despite a relatively subdued price environment.

XRP Price Remains Under Pressure

The strong ETF inflows came during a period when XRP was still facing price weakness.

The cryptocurrency traded around $1.08, representing a decline of approximately 2.5% over the previous 24 hours and nearly 10% over the past month.

Notably, looking at the ETF flows alongside XRP’s price, it is evident that institutional buying has not always translated into immediate price appreciation.

During the early stages of spot XRP ETF trading, funds recorded significantly larger capital inflows, including a single-day addition of roughly $187.07 million, which stands out as the largest inflow shown during the period.

However, those early inflows were followed by several sessions of notable net outflows around January 9, 2026, before daily fund movements settled into a more stable pattern.

In recent months, ETF flows have generally consisted of smaller but more consistent inflows, with only occasional outflow sessions.

Over the same period, XRP’s price has continued to trend lower, illustrating that steady ETF demand has existed alongside a broader decline in the token’s market price.

July Flows Reflect Mixed Institutional Activity

Although July produced its largest inflow on July 16, investor activity throughout the month has been mixed.

Earlier in the month, US spot XRP ETFs recorded $6.55 million in net inflows on July 2, followed by a modest $107,000 inflow on July 10.

The market also experienced periods of selling pressure, including $1.86 million in net outflows on July 1 and $7.29 million in outflows on July 8. Several trading sessions ended with little or no net movement.

The latest $6.78 million addition, therefore, represents a notable recovery from those earlier outflow sessions and marks the strongest daily performance recorded during the month.

Among ETF issuers, Bitwise remained the largest fund by assets under management with $312.82 million. Canary Capital followed with $253.20 million, while Franklin Templeton managed $252.15 million in XRP ETF assets.

XRP ETFs Have Outperformed Ethereum ETFs

The July 16 trading session also highlighted differing investor sentiment across digital asset ETFs.

On the same day, US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $79.15 million in net inflows, extending positive institutional demand for Bitcoin-related investment products.

Spot Solana ETFs recorded $1.66 million in inflows, while spot Ethereum ETFs experienced $28.04 million in net outflows. Investment products tied to HYPE finished the day with no reported net changes.

Although Bitcoin ETFs continued to attract the largest amount of capital, XRP ETFs outperformed Ethereum ETFs during the session by recording positive net inflows while Ethereum funds ended the day with net withdrawals.

Recent network data shows that around 89% of default UNL validators have upgraded to XRPL v3.2.0, placing the amendment above the required threshold.

However, software adoption and amendment voting are separate processes, meaning validators must still maintain the required approval level until the activation period is complete.

The fixCleanup3_2_0 package also includes updates for several major XRP Ledger features, including the Permissioned DEX, Permissioned Domains, Single-Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, and Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), alongside security and maintenance improvements.

Permission Delegation Brings Role-Based Account Control

Permission Delegation introduces role-based access control (RBAC) to the XRP Ledger.

Instead of sharing full wallet access, account owners can assign specific permissions to another account while keeping ownership and sensitive account functions under the control of the primary wallet.

According to Vet, an XRP Ledger validator and Director of Community at the XRP Ledger Foundation, the feature was built to address compliance and treasury management requirements for institutions.

It allows organisations to keep their master keys in cold storage while delegating operational tasks to designated accounts, reducing the need to expose high-value credentials online.

The feature is expected to benefit enterprises that rely on automated payment systems or multiple employees to manage blockchain operations, as permissions can be limited to predefined transaction types instead of granting unrestricted access.

Permission Delegation was originally introduced under the XLS-75d proposal, but was disabled before mainnet activation after developers identified a vulnerability that could have allowed transaction fees to be charged to another account.

Brazil’s Stablecoin Market Expands on XRP Ledger

The latest XRP market activity comes as Brazil strengthens its position as one of Latin America’s leading digital asset markets.

The country now has more than 10 Brazilian real (BRL)-backed stablecoin projects, with several of them choosing the XRP Ledger as the underlying blockchain for issuing and transferring tokenised assets.

Among the better-known projects are BRZ, BRLA, and BRLM, each designed to provide a digital representation of the Brazilian real while supporting faster and more efficient transactions.

According to crypto researcher SMQKE, several BRL-backed stablecoins are operating on the XRP Ledger. The researcher notes that XRPL’s ability to process transactions within seconds while maintaining low network costs has made it an attractive option for issuers handling large transaction volumes.

Institutional Interest Continues to Grow

Interestingly, the expanding use of the XRP Ledger is not limited to private companies.

As depicted in a recently published study, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has included the XRP Ledger among blockchain networks used by banks for stablecoin issuance, reflecting the network’s increasing visibility within institutional finance.

The recognition comes as financial institutions explore blockchain technology for payment systems and digital asset issuance.

The XRP Ledger offers native tokenisation features alongside a long operating history and a network designed to support large transaction volumes with relatively low costs.

Ripple, the company that develops payment technologies built around the XRP ecosystem, has continued supporting the broader development of the XRP Ledger.

Beyond stablecoins, the network is also being positioned for tokenised assets and potential future central bank digital currency (CBDC) initiatives.

The XRP Ledger has also received a technical enhancement with the reintroduction of the Batch amendment. The update allows users to combine multiple actions, including payments, token swaps, and NFT purchases, into a single transaction.

By reducing the number of separate transactions required, the feature is designed to improve efficiency while lowering transaction costs for more complex operations.

With more than ten BRL-backed stablecoin projects now active on XRP Ledger and institutions increasingly exploring blockchain-based financial infrastructure, the XRP Ledger is becoming a larger part of the evolving digital payments landscape, and this is good news for XRP’s price, which currently appears undervalued.

XRP Breakout Puts Short Sellers Under Pressure

XRP has broken above the key $1.0525 resistance level, confirming a bullish breakout after weeks of sideways price action. The asset has since traded within a 24-hour range of $1.04 to $1.11, suggesting bulls remain in control.

According to liquidation data, XRP’s short max pain level sits at approximately $1.30953, where around $5.79 million in short positions are concentrated. As XRP continues climbing, a move toward this level could trigger another wave of forced liquidations, potentially accelerating the rally.

The broader crypto derivatives market has already shown signs of this dynamic. More than $634 million in leveraged positions were liquidated over 24 hours, with roughly 73% of those liquidations coming from short sellers.

Within XRP itself, about 80.6% of liquidated positions were shorts, highlighting growing pressure on bearish traders.

Monthly RSI Signals Long-Term Strength

Beyond the short-term breakout, XRP’s longer-term technical picture is becoming increasingly interesting.

Crypto analyst EGRAG CRYPTO notes that XRP’s monthly Relative Strength Index (RSI) has reached its lowest level on record before beginning to flatten. He believes reclaiming key RSI levels at 40, 42, 46.5, 47.8, and eventually above 50 would strengthen the case for a sustained bullish reversal.

The analyst also points out that the last decisive monthly RSI move above 50 coincided with XRP’s approximately 500% rally during the previous bullish cycle, making this level an important milestone to monitor.

One Warning Bulls Should Watch

Despite the improving technical outlook, caution remains warranted.

As highlighted in our July 2 newsletter, long-term holder buying has declined by around 11%, while futures open interest has fallen approximately 11.5%. This indicates that although price is recovering, institutional and leveraged participation have not fully returned.

If buying volume strengthens, XRP could continue advancing toward the $1.30 liquidation zone. However, if demand remains subdued, the asset may first retest support around $1.06 before attempting its next leg higher.

For now, XRP’s breakout remains intact, but sustained buying pressure will ultimately determine whether the move evolves into a larger bullish trend.

LendProtocol has launched a fixed-rate lending platform on the XRP Ledger, giving XRP and RLUSD holders a new way to earn yield through lending instead of staking.

The launch adds another lending option to the XRP Ledger ecosystem at a time when demand for yield-generating products continues to grow even as the XRP price remains subdued.

Unlike proof-of-stake networks, XRP cannot be staked to earn native rewards, making lending one of the few ways holders can generate passive returns.

Fixed Returns Backed by Overcollateralized Loans

According to LendProtocol, users who borrow funds on the platform must provide collateral worth at least 120% of the loan value. Supported collateral includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, RLUSD, and Tether (USDT).

According to a press release shared by the company, the newly launched platform lends funds at a fixed rate of 12.7% APR while paying depositors 12% APR, with the difference forming its operating margin.

Depositors can withdraw their assets at any time, eliminating the need for fixed-term commitments that are common on many lending platforms.

LendProtocol also said it has implemented security measures, including AES-256 GCM encryption, cold storage for digital assets, and mandatory two-factor authentication for user accounts.

Platform Targets Yield Opportunities on the XRP Ledger

LendProtocol describes its service as a centralised finance (CeFi) lending platform built on the XRP Ledger.

The company noted that it operates independently and is separate from Ripple’s proposed native lending standard, known as XLS-66, which is still under development for the XRP Ledger ecosystem.

The platform claims to have attracted more than 13,700 active lenders and facilitated lending of over 743 million XRP since its launch. Those figures highlight growing interest in lending services designed specifically for XRP holders seeking predictable returns.

The addition of RLUSD support is also notable. Ripple introduced the US dollar-backed stablecoin to expand payment and decentralised finance use cases on the XRP Ledger.

By allowing both XRP and RLUSD deposits to earn a fixed return, LendProtocol is expanding the range of yield opportunities available within the network.

The launch comes as lending continues to play a larger role in the digital asset market, with platforms increasingly focusing on fixed-rate products and overcollateralized loans to attract users looking for more predictable returns.

Credentials verify participant identities, while Permissioned Domains restrict access to approved users.

VS1 Finance brings regulatory experience to the project. The company recently joined Ripple’s UDAX accelerator, which focuses on developing on-chain capital markets. It is also preparing to issue tokenised corporate bonds within the National Bank of Georgia’s regulatory sandbox.

The announcement reflects XRPL’s broader strategy to expand beyond cross-border payments.

Ripple executives openly spoke about replacing the decades-old banking network, while supporters of XRP viewed the digital asset as the future of international settlements. That narrative has changed significantly.

Today, the discussion is no longer centred on whether Ripple will replace SWIFT.

Instead, the focus has shifted to a more complex reality where the two systems are becoming increasingly connected, even as they continue to develop separate technologies.

The result is a unique paradox. XRP is not part of SWIFT’s new blockchain infrastructure, yet it can still play a role in transactions that move through the global banking network.

SWIFT leaves XRP outside its shared ledger

SWIFT remains the dominant messaging network for cross-border payments.

More than 11,500 financial institutions across over 200 countries and territories rely on its infrastructure to exchange payment instructions every day.

According to SWIFT, the network processes tens of millions of financial messages daily, making it one of the most critical components of the global financial system.

Rather than standing still as blockchain technology gained traction, SWIFT invested heavily in modernising its own infrastructure.

One of its biggest milestones has been the transition to ISO 20022, a global financial messaging standard designed to improve payment data quality and interoperability.

The organisation has also been developing a permissioned shared ledger to support tokenised assets and digital transactions between financial institutions.

The platform is designed to connect banks and regulated financial entities without requiring them to abandon existing payment rails.

According to Swift, 34 banks have committed to going live with the Swift payments scheme by the end of June.

Notably, XRP is not part of this shared ledger.

SWIFT’s architecture does not require the digital asset for settlement, nor has the organisation announced plans to integrate XRP directly into the platform.

At first glance, that appears to weaken XRP’s role in institutional finance. However, the broader payments ecosystem tells a different story.

Ripple shifts from competition to integration

Ripple’s strategy has evolved considerably over the past decade.

Earlier public statements from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse often positioned the company as a challenger to SWIFT.

More recently, Ripple has focused on working alongside existing financial infrastructure instead of replacing it.

This strategic shift is reflected in the company’s expanding product portfolio.

Beyond XRP-powered payments, Ripple has introduced institutional custody services and launched RLUSD, a US dollar-backed stablecoin aimed at regulated financial institutions.

The company has also continued developing Ripple Payments, which gives financial institutions multiple settlement options depending on their liquidity needs and regulatory requirements.

That means XRP has become one option within a broader payments ecosystem instead of serving as the only settlement asset available through Ripple’s network.

XRP can still connect to the SWIFT ecosystem

Although XRP is excluded from SWIFT’s shared ledger, it is not completely separated from the SWIFT ecosystem.

A key example is Ripple’s partnership with Thunes, a global cross-border payments provider that operates one of the world’s largest payout networks.

Through this relationship, Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity technology can be used to facilitate cross-border settlements while remaining connected to existing banking infrastructure.

This distinction is important.

SWIFT primarily functions as a messaging network that instructs financial institutions how payments should move.

Settlement, however, often occurs through correspondent banking relationships that require banks to maintain pre-funded nostro and vostro accounts across multiple jurisdictions.

Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity was designed to reduce that requirement by using XRP as a temporary bridge asset.

Instead of locking capital in foreign accounts, participating institutions can source liquidity when the payment is initiated, complete the transfer within seconds, and convert back into the destination currency.

This process does not require SWIFT to adopt XRP directly. Instead, XRP can operate alongside existing banking rails when institutions choose that settlement option.

That creates an unusual relationship. SWIFT continues to provide the global financial messaging infrastructure, while Ripple offers an alternative settlement mechanism that can complement traditional payment flows.

According to the X posts, the service launches with several built-in features and user perks, accompanied by an in-app welcome preview highlighting its capabilities.

One detail that has attracted significant attention from the cryptocurrency community is X Money’s banking partner.

Cross River Bank, a long-time Ripple partner, serves as the primary banking institution supporting the payment platform.

That relationship has renewed discussions about Ripple and XRP, although there is currently no official confirmation that X Money uses Ripple’s technology or XRP for payments.

Cross River Bank Powers X Money Infrastructure

Cross River Bank plays a central role in the launch of X Money.

The financial institution provides the banking infrastructure behind the service, including payment processing, customer deposits, card issuance, and the X Cash Sweep Program, which offers FDIC insurance coverage for eligible funds.

The partnership is notable because Cross River Bank has maintained a relationship with Ripple since 2014.

Over the years, the bank has worked with Ripple on payment technology, particularly in areas related to cross-border financial services.

That existing relationship has naturally led to speculation that Ripple’s technology could eventually become part of X Money’s broader ecosystem.

However, no announcement from X, Elon Musk, Cross River Bank, or Ripple has confirmed such an integration.

At this stage, X Money operates as a fiat-based payment platform supported by traditional banking infrastructure rather than blockchain settlement.

No Official XRP Integration Has Been Announced

The launch of X Money represents a significant milestone for Elon Musk’s broader plan to transform X into a platform that combines social networking, payments, and financial services.

At the same time, Cross River Bank’s involvement has created fresh interest in Ripple because of the bank’s long-standing partnership with the blockchain payments company.

What has not been confirmed is whether Ripple’s payment technology or XRP will play any role in X Money’s operations.

Until an official announcement is made by X, Ripple, or Cross River Bank, any expectation of XRP integration remains speculation rather than confirmed development.

For now, the rollout demonstrates that X Money is entering the market with an established banking infrastructure while leaving the door open for future financial innovations.

XRP Community Watches the Development Closely

Although X Money does not officially support XRP, the involvement of Ripple’s long-time banking partner has placed the digital asset back in focus.

At the time of writing, the XRP price stood at $1.05, representing a 1.6% gain over the past 24 hours.

Over the past week, XRP has declined 7.9%, while its 30-day performance shows a 21.6% loss. On a yearly basis, the cryptocurrency remains 50.9% below its level from twelve months ago.

XRP also remains well below its all-time high of $3.65, reached on July 18, 2025.

At its current price of $1.05, the token trades roughly 71.3% below that record level.

Notably, XRP’s trading activity has remained healthy despite the recent correction.

XRP recorded approximately $2.52 billion in 24-hour trading volume, indicating that market participation remains strong even as prices continue to trade below previous highs.

Even so, earlier market analysis also identified $1.06 as an important price area that traders are monitoring.

If $1.06 fails, analysts like Celal Kucuker have pointed to $0.80, $0.62, and $0.51 as potential downside support zones based on historical trading activity and on-chain volume distribution.

But if XRP establishes support above that level, sentiment could improve, and the token could regain the key resistance at $1.24.

Data shows that approximately $801 million worth of RLUSD is now held on the XRP Ledger, compared with about $795 million on Ethereum.

The change ends an 18-month period during which Ethereum hosted the larger share of Ripple’s regulated stablecoin.

XRP Ledger Overtakes Ethereum as RLUSD’s Largest Network

Since RLUSD launched in late 2024, Ethereum remained the dominant network for the stablecoin despite Ripple positioning XRPL as its primary settlement platform.

That changed after Ripple adjusted the balance of RLUSD across both blockchains over the past month.

During that period, Ripple removed roughly $539 million worth of RLUSD from circulation across Ethereum and the XRP Ledger.

Around 75% of those burns took place on Ethereum, significantly reducing the amount of RLUSD held on the network.

As a result, the XRP Ledger’s share of RLUSD steadily increased. Less than a year ago, XRPL accounted for only about 9% of RLUSD holdings. That figure has now grown to just over half, allowing the network to move ahead of Ethereum.

Institutional Activity Continues to Build on XRPL

The shift also comes as Ripple expands the XRP Ledger’s role in institutional finance through tokenised assets and cross-border settlement.

Earlier this year, JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance participated in a pilot transaction on the XRP Ledger involving the redemption of a tokenised US Treasury fund.

The transaction was completed in less than five seconds, a significant improvement over the one-to-three business days typically required through traditional banking infrastructure.

Institutional adoption has also accelerated in other areas, and the value of tokenised real-world assets on the XRP Ledger increased by approximately 124% in a single quarter, highlighting growing interest from financial institutions exploring blockchain-based settlement.

Ripple has also expanded RLUSD’s payment use cases, with Mastercard recently integrating both the XRP Ledger and RLUSD into infrastructure designed to support AI agents capable of making autonomous payments.

What the Shift Means for XRP

Hosting a larger share of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger creates more opportunities for XRP to be used within the network’s decentralised exchange.

Unlike Ethereum, where RLUSD functions as another dollar-backed token inside decentralised finance applications, the XRP Ledger can route transactions through XRP when direct trading pairs lack sufficient liquidity. In those cases, trades move from RLUSD into XRP before reaching another asset.

This process allows XRP to serve as a bridge asset for certain transactions occurring on the network.

However, XRP is not required for every trade. Institutions can establish direct RLUSD trading pairs when appropriate, eliminating the need for XRP in specific payment corridors.

One example is Ripple’s payment corridor with Bitso for transfers between the United States and Mexico, where RLUSD can be paired directly with a peso-backed stablecoin instead of routing through XRP.

As a result, the increased concentration of RLUSD on XRPL expands the number of situations where XRP can participate in transactions, but it does not guarantee that every payment or settlement will use the digital asset.

RLUSD Gets Regulatory Green Light in Japan

Ripple’s USD-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, is now live in Japan after approval from the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA).

The launch came through a partnership with SBI Group, making RLUSD accessible to both institutional and retail users via the VCTRADE platform.

Ripple positions the move as a bridge for payments, tokenisation, and collateral management, a meaningful entry point into one of Asia’s most tightly regulated financial markets.

Separately, RLUSD’s footprint on the XRP Ledger itself is reportedly closing the gap with its supply on Ethereum, according to commentary from XRP legal advocate Bill Morgan, who points to rising holder counts, burn data, and real-world asset inflows as evidence that the ledger is becoming RLUSD’s primary home.

Ripple Managing Director confirms Native Lending is Coming to XRPL

Ripple Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, Reece Merrick, has spotlighted two pending amendments, XLS-65 and XLS-66, that would let users lend digital assets and earn yield natively on the XRP Ledger.

A project called SOIL says it’s preparing to be the first to deploy on the proposed XRPL Lending Protocol and Savings framework once both amendments are activated.

If approved, developers would no longer need to route lending activity through external chains, potentially deepening on-chain liquidity and use cases for XRP itself.

XRP price under pressure

Interestingly, none of these developments has translated into upward price momentum yet.

XRP traded near $1.06 on Thursday, down almost 5% for the week, sitting below its 50, 100, and 200-day EMAs.

In addition, CoinGlass data shows a long-to-short ratio of 0.95 and a negative funding rate of -0.0126%, both signalling bearish positioning among derivatives traders.

Why It Could Be the Right Time to Look at XRP

Bulls argue this is a classic fundamentals-versus-sentiment gap.

Spot ETF inflows ($5.31M Monday and $2.05M Wednesday) suggest some institutional accumulation even as retail sentiment stays cautious.

In addition, the support near $1.00 has held, and a confirmed break above the $1.19 resistance, followed by $1.30, would target the 100-day EMA at $1.3333.

Also, on the daily chart, the RSI (14) is at around 30 just at the boundary of the oversold territory and moving downwards, suggesting a possible oversold market condition could be coming soon.

Combined with real regulatory wins (Japan) and protocol-level catalysts (XLS-65/66), some traders see the current dip as a window before sentiment catches up to fundamentals.

That said, derivatives data still favours sellers, and pending XRPL upgrades have no confirmed activation date.

The CSSF’s preliminary approval signals that Ripple’s operational structure in Luxembourg is moving in line with MiCA requirements, particularly those governing Crypto-Asset Service Providers (CASPs) and electronic money institutions that support stablecoin-related services.

Under MiCA rules, firms must first establish a compliant legal entity within an EU member state before they can offer services across all 30 European Economic Area countries, including the 27 EU member states, along with Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.

Ripple’s Luxembourg base is designed to support this framework, allowing the company to scale services once final authorisation is granted.

The approval is also tied to Ripple’s broader licensing efforts in Europe, including its earlier progress toward electronic money institution authorisation in Luxembourg.

That license is typically required for companies that intend to issue or manage euro- or dollar-pegged digital assets within the EU regulatory perimeter.

Ripple’s European strategy is closely linked to the expansion of its cross-border payments infrastructure, known as Ripple Payments.

The company has been steadily building regulatory access in key financial jurisdictions, with Europe seen as a critical region for institutional settlement flows.

The Luxembourg approval strengthens Ripple’s positioning to support regulated payment corridors across Europe once final clearance is obtained.

It also supports the company’s broader stablecoin ambitions, including the rollout of its dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD, which is designed to operate within compliant regulatory frameworks in major markets.

XRP weakens despite regulatory progress

Despite the regulatory development, XRP traded at $1.10, reflecting a 4.4% decline over the past 24 hours.

Over the past seven days, the token has fallen 10.6%, while the 30-day decline stands at 19.4%. On a longer horizon, XRP is down approximately 46% over the past year.

During the same session, XRP moved within a 24-hour range of $1.09 to $1.14, showing limited intraday recovery despite the headlines surrounding Ripple’s regulatory progress in Europe.

Trading volume over the past 24 hours reached roughly $1.51 billion, indicating continued active participation from market participants even as price momentum remained weak.

The broader trend shows sustained selling pressure that has persisted even through multiple regulatory and institutional developments.

XRP also remains significantly below its all-time high of $3.65 recorded in July 2025, placing current prices nearly 70% lower than peak levels.

From a technical perspective, XRP is trading in a compressed range between $1.09 and $1.14 in the short term.

A break below $1.09 would place immediate focus on the $1.05 support area, which has acted as a short-term floor in recent sessions.

If selling pressure continues beyond that level, traders are watching $1.00 as a psychological support zone that has historically attracted liquidity.

On the upside, recovery attempts are likely to face resistance near $1.14, which aligns with the upper boundary of the current 24-hour range.

A sustained move above this level would be needed to shift short-term momentum, with $1.20 emerging as the next area of interest based on recent trading structure.

For now, XRP remains heavily influenced by broader risk sentiment and liquidity conditions rather than isolated regulatory developments.

The divergence between Ripple’s regulatory progress in Europe and XRP’s price performance highlights a market still driven by macro pressure and cautious trading behaviour.

XRP made a run at $1.16 earlier today before fading back to around $1.13 at press time.

Notably, the rejection came just two sessions after the token dipped to $1.12 on Sunday, so the range it has traded in for most of June is still very much intact.

Reports that the US and Iran made progress in their first round of peace talks, with both sides targeting a final agreement within 60 days, lifted risk appetite across crypto on Monday.

However, XRP is down more than 4% on the week and over 13% on the month, making today’s rejection at $1.16 fit a pattern rather than breaking one.

Seven weeks of ETF inflows, but thinner derivatives backing

• Spot XRP ETFs have logged net inflows for seven straight weeks, per SoSoValue

• Last week’s inflows totaled to $10.66 million

• Cumulative inflows since launch total $1.45 billion

• Net assets under management: $994.81 million

• Futures open interest (Monday): $2.55 billion, down from $2.63 billion a day earlier

• July’s record open interest: $10.94 billion, far above current levels

The chart still has the final say

• XRP’s rejection at $1.16 keeps it inside the $1.10–$1.30 range that has held since early June

• XRP needs a daily close above $1.15 to flip it back to support

• $1.20 is the next target once $1.15 is reclaimed

• 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs remain above the XRP price

• The MACD line has crossed above its signal line, but both are still below the zero mark

• The MACD histogram has been in the green since June 14, 2026

• The RSI is at 40.25, up from recent lows but still short of the neutral 50 level

Analysts’ projections

Some analysts are looking well past the current range.

Javon Marks has kept a long-term measured-move target near $17 in place, writing on social media that “the move just doesn’t look done” and pointing back to his earlier call that tracked XRP from roughly $0.50 to above $3.30.

Market commentator Diana takes a similar long-term view, framing XRP’s 68% drop from its $3.66 cycle peak as a deep correction that may already be over. She sees a move through $2.00 to $2.50 as the next real test, with $8.17 floated as a further target if that breakout extends.

Both calls depend on levels XRP hasn’t come close to yet.

For now, the more useful reference points are the ones sitting right in front of the price: $1.15 and $1.20 on the way up, $1.08 on the way down. Everything past that is a longer-term bet, not a near-term signal.
